A body with "obvious trauma" was found south of Lamont on Friday and a homicide investigation is ongoing, sheriff's officials said. 

Deputies from the Lamont substation were sent to the area of Sandrini and North Wheeler Ridge roads at about 10:08 p.m. to a report of a body, sheriff's officials said. Homicide detectives then went to the scene due to the injuries found on the person, who has not yet been identified.
