The robbery was reported at about 12:53 p.m. at the Citibank at 5554 California Ave. Police learned the suspect had approached a teller with a note demanding money then told her he would detonate an explosive device if she refused to comply.

The suspect is described as white, 30 to 40 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 4 inches tall, with a possibly fake dark-colored bear and wearing a green hat, gray jacket and black shirt.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation, or the identity of the suspect, is asked to call Detective Chris Bagby at 326-3567 or the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111.
