A Bakersfield man was arrested after being involved in three crashes and leading officers on a brief chase Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Johnnie Moore, 40, was arrested after abandoning his vehicle in the 1400 block of Cheatham Avenue, according to police. He was booked on suspicion of DUI, three counts of hit and run, evading and resisting arrest.

The events leading to his arrest began at about 2:15 p.m. when he hit a vehicle in the 100 block of Chester Avenue then fled the scene, according to the Bakersfield Police Department. Moore was then involved in a second collision, and was driving away when officers arrived. He struck an unoccupied BPD Police Service Technician truck and drove off.

Officers found him in the area of Highway 58 and Cottonwood Road, where he led them on a short, slow-speed pursuit, according to police.

The other driver in the second collision was taken to a local hospital for complaint of pain.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the BPD at 327-7111.
