A man suspected of kidnapping his baby son was found in Bakersfield on Saturday after an Amber Alert went out on Friday.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Jeffrey Gomes and his two-month-old son Jefferson were found at around noon at a Shell station on Enos Lane near Taft Highway. Gomes has been taken into police custody.

Jefferson was kidnapped on Friday in the area of Interstate 5 and Highway 138. Authorities said Jefferson's family had stopped due to an argument, after which Gomes allegedly took his son and drove off in a white 2007 Chevrolet truck.

The case is still under investigation.
