The Mojave Air and Spaceport will get a visit from Vice President Mike Pence Tuesday afternoon.

Pence and his wife will get a tour of some of the businesses developing commercial space flight capabilities at the east Kern County spaceport.

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Bakersfield, will host them on their visit to The Spaceship Company hanger. The company is developing commercial spaceflight systems.

The vice-president will also visit the Stratolaunch Systems facility where a massive carrier plane is being developed that would allow rockets and satellites to be launched into low Earth orbit from the air.

Pence is on a fundraising tour of California.

This career politician is best already fundraising? What a radical Vice President. As governor of Indiana he signed a draconian bill that infringed on civil liberties and is antiquated on his view on climate change.
