Police looking for suspect in north Bakersfield shooting

A 20-year-old man was shot Wednesday outside his apartment in north Bakersfield.

Bakersfield Police officer J. Cooley, stands near the entrance to an apartment complex located on 33rd Street where a shooting occurred late Wednesday afternoon.

Ray Lamar Worthy was at his home in the 600 block of 33rd Street when two suspects walked up to him at about 3 p.m., according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

One of the suspects shot Worthy several times, police said. The suspects ran away.

Worthy was taken to Kern Medical Center and was in stable condition Wednesday afternoon.

The armed suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 120 pounds, thin build, wearing a white T-shirt and blue jean shorts.
