27-year-old injured in Saturday hit-and-run

A 27-year-old man suffered major injuries in a hit-and-run crash in Oildale Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Jorge A. Abarca was hit while walking across North Chester Avenue near McCord Avenue just before 9:30 p.m., according to a CHP news release. Abarca was taken to Kern Medical Center, where his condition was unknown Sunday.
The vehicle that struck Abarca is believed to be a white Toyota Camry with front-end damage, a broken windshield and a missing driver’s side mirror. Anyone with information about this accident is asked to call the highway patrol, 864-4440.
