The 42 rental units at Central Avenue Senior Apartments are nearly all leased already, administrative assistant Antonio Hernandez said.
There’s a demand for low-income housing, he said.
Eligible tenants earn 60 percent or less of the median area income. Subsidies allow them to pay 30 percent of that monthly income in rent, as dictated by U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development regulations, Hernandez said.
Financing came from the USDA, the state’s Joe Serna Jr. Farmworker Housing Grant Program and Enterprise Community Investment Inc., a Maryland-based company specializing in affordable housing funding, according to an Enterprise Community Investment news release.
Ceremonies start at 10 a.m. at 300 Central Ave. in Wasco.
