After an investigation by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, it was found that the man sent sexually-explicit letters to his 12-year-old daughter which included a drawing of a naked female.
Further investigation revealed that the man threatened suicide in telephone conversations with the girl in an attempt to coerce her into writing sexually explicit letters to him and to force her into performing sexual acts.
He also told her he wanted her to take “special pictures” of herself and hide them in the inner packaging of an envelope to smuggle into the prison through the mail.
Investigators found the man had been molesting his daughter since she was in kindergarten, according to the release.
The Californian does not publish the name of victims of sexual crimes. By publishing the father’s name, the daughter’s name could be revealed.
The man is currently serving a 12-year sentence for molesting his daughter’s 8-year-old friend. He will serve the new sentence consecutively with the current sentence.
According to the news release, United States District Court Judge Lawrence O’Neill noted the man was “a skilled manipulator” who victimized his daughter for an extended period of time.
O’Neill said “it was beyond description to believe that someone who is part of the human race” would engage in the conduct the man did with his own daughter.
