Deputies cite 48 and seize 37 cars in Wasco checkpoint

Wasco deputies cited 48 drivers and arrested three people Saturday at a checkpoint aimed at cracking down on people driving under the influence or without a license.

The checkpoint was set up at Highway 43 and Poso Drive from 3-8 p.m. Deputies stopped 723 vehicles and by the end of the day 37 of those vehicles had been impounded.
Deputies also arrested three people, including one person who tried to flee from the checkpoint but was caught.
