HUNTINGTON BEACH — Golden West College scored three unearned runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Friday to rally past Bakersfield College’s baseball team 7-6.

Golden West had four hits and a hit by pitch and the Renegades had an error in the inning.

BC (3-8) scored five runs in the fifth highlighted by a two-run home run by Erik Williams and a two-run single by Cole Hallum.

In the BC third, Rolando Martinez scored from third on the front end of a double steal attempt, with Zach Tanner out at second on the steal attempt.

Martinez had three hits and scored twice with Hallum and Tanner adding two hits each.

CSUB softball

RIVERSIDE — Cal State Bakersfield lost its seventh straight game, losing 12-4 in nine innings to Loyola Marymount at the UC Riverside tournament.

Bakersfield (2-10) trailed 2-0 until scoring twice in the sixth on an RBI double by Jessica Castaneda and an error.

Both teams scored twice in the eighth, with the Roadrunners scoring on an illegal pitch and on Karissa Veiga’s RBI ground ball.

But in the ninth, Loyola Marymount scored eight runs. The Lions sent 12 batters to the plate, collecting six hits and a walk with CSUB adding an error. Five of the runs were earned.

Madison Bundy and Amber Mills had two hits each for CSUB.
