Kernville played host Saturday to the first Whiskey Flat Fall Festival. The Halloween-themed event with pumpkins, a haunted maze and costume contest also saw its share of cowboys and western attire.

The Fall Festival goes until 10 p.m. Saturday, and continues from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The popular Whiskey Flat Days, celebrating the town's founding, will still take place in February.

Californain photographer Casey Christie captured the spirit of Saturday's event with these photos.
