Bakersfield College held its commencement exercises Friday night at Memorial Stadium.

Nearly 900 students' accomplishments were recognized. It was the 99th graduation ceremony for the college.

The college offered some facts about this year's class:

• More than half of the graduates are the first in their family to attend and graduate from college.

• Women outnumber men 572 to 264.

• A total of 550 of the 836 associate degree recipients plan to transfer to four-year schools in the fall.

• The youngest graduate is Danielle Jacobo, age 16.

• The oldest graduate is Betty Barnes, who was born in 1940.
