On Sunday April 14th, Aaron McKeegan of the Japan Martial Arts Academy of Bakersfield competed in the USA National Karate Championships held in Stockton California. Aaron placed 3rd in Weapons Kata. Vincent Cardenas and Grant Mc Mahon of the Japan Martial Arts Academy also competed and qualified for the USA National Karate Federation National Championships and USA Team Trials to be held in Greenville, NC July 11-14, 2013.

The Stonecreek Junior High girls basketball team was honored by the Panama Buena Vista Union School District Superintendent Board of Trustees on April 9 for winning the district championship. Stonecreek also won the Wendell Davis, El Tejon and Standard tournaments.
