Condors coach Matt O’Dette was fined an undisclosed amount by the ECHL on Friday due to published remarks he made about the referee J.M. McNaulty in Thursday night’s 4-1 loss at home to the Stockton Thunder.

In case you missed it, here is what was published:

“We were better than them. We outplayed them,” O'Dette said. (McNaulty) took it away from us. Again. Same guy every time. It's embarrassing. I don't  know what to say about the officiating but he robbed us.

“It's one thing calling our penalties, it's fine. There's handfuls of penalties he could of called our way early in the game. He spites us and calls make up ones with under a minute to go. That's unacceptable. He's just making the score sheet look good at the end of the night. It's a friggin' joke. A joke.”

There was more, but ojne gets the idea.

Despite the loss, which snapped a four-game win streak, O’Dette said he felt the Condors played well.

“We did a good video session (on Friday), showed a lot of positives,” he said. “I thought we did out play them and out chance them. They were the opportunistic team, a flip of the script from what we were doing.”

The Condors play host to the Ontario Reign on Saturday Night, a team they have not beaten since opening night, 2011. The Reign have the second-best record in the Western Conference.

“They certainly have had our number but we need points and we have to find a way to get them.” O’Dette said. “We need to play our best game.”

Defenseman Deron Cousens missed the past two games to injury but is probable for the Ontario game .., Forward Scott Freeman missed Thursday night’s game due to injury and is doubtful.
