Making 98 saves on 99 shots is pretty close to perfection so it's no surprise that Bakersfield goaltender Brian Stewart was named ECHL goaltender of the week for Feb. 11-17.
Stewart, who turned 28 on Tuesday, stopped 52 of 53 shots on Friday night — an ECHL season high — as the Condors beat Colorado 4-1. On Saturday night he stopped all 46 shots he faced in a 1-0 win over the Eagles. Hew had a .50 goals-against average and .990 save percentage in the two wins.
“It was for sure my best weekend of the year but we got the two wins which is most important,” Stewart said.
Stewart, and the Condors have won three straight heading into a Tuesday night game against the Wranglers in Las Vegas.
