Fans of BMX racing will want to check out the Metro BMX track this weekend, as the USA BMX Golden State Nationals comes to town.

The track, located at 3805 Chester Ave. in the Sam Lynn Ballpark Complex, will host the nationals race all weekend. Races begin at 5 p.m. Friday and at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Local riders Jordan Miranda, Peter Choat and Nathan Kitchen will be among those racing this weekend. 

This is the second year the Golden State Nationals has come to Bakersfield. USA BMX is part of the American Bicycle Association, the world's largest BMX racing organization. 

Admission is free. Parking is $10 per day and $30 for the weekend.
