For those who want to see what's going on downtown but can't make it to a First Friday, Second Saturday has the solution. More of an all-day endeavor, folks can wander among businesses and vendors, taking part in activities and enjoying breakfast or lunch at any of a number of downtown spots.

So what's cooking this month? Let's find out.

A free yoga stretching session will be offered by Samsara Wellness Center from noon to 1 p.m. at 17th Place Townhomes, 1001 18th St.

Another yoga opportunity is available through Be Still Yoga (2005 Eye St. #4, upstairs above Dagny's), which will host morning iyengar yoga. Classes will be held at 7:15 and 8:30 a.m. and are limited to eight people each. Cost is $10 and preregistration is encouraged at

Jewelry and gift shop Wire+Pearl has teamed with The Rustic Petal, a mobile flower shop, to offer ideas for Valentine's Day shoppers. Options will include bouquets and accessories and gifts organized in a way to help shoppers in need (i.e. men). The shop at 1911 17th St. will be open from 3-7 p.m.

The Bakersfield Museum of Art (1930 R St.) has free admission to view its current winter exhibition. Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the museum will offer a tour of "LINE: Selections from the BMoA Permanent Collection" geared toward families at 1 p.m.

Speaking of art, the Bakersfield Art Association Art Center (1607 19th St.) will offer a demonstration by local artist Art Sherwyn after a brief meeting at 10 a.m. Charlotte White, Art Center instructor, will conduct a Valentine’s Day art project open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bike Bakersfield (1708 Chester Ave.) will host a question-and-answer session on basic bike safety at 11 a.m. Then they'll lead a bike ride to visit other Second Saturday spots. For those not on two wheels, other volunteers will offer information on the Recycle-a-Bike program, the bike kitchen — where the community can come and work on their bicycles — and more from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dog Gone Crazy Pet Salon (1316 19th St.) will offer its Kiss Me Valentines Package — fresh breath foam, toenail trim, blueberry clove perfume and doggy scarf — from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
