Everybody loves a fun read by columnist Herb Benham, right? Well, he's not nearly as interesting in person, but we'll let you judge for yourself: Herb will be the celebrity host of the day at The Guild House today between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Behnam said he will be there to chat with guests and brighten up their day.

"I look forward to seeing many Guild House friends," Behnam said.

On today's menu is clam chowder, macadamia tilapia and applesauce cake. The Guild House, located at 1905 18th St., recommends you make a reservation by calling 325-5478.

When we called to make our reservation, because we can never get enough of Herb, The Guild House said the 11:30 slot was filled. So call early, if you really want to get a seat with Herb.

Lunch is $16 per person. All proceeds benefit the Henrietta Weill Memorial Child Guidance Clinic, which provides residents of Kern County with mental health and substance abuse services, as well as resources necessary to promote wellness and recovery.
