If you're someone who takes pride in your facial hair, then you won't want to miss the first annual Bako Beard Bash, put on by a local beard care company, The Beard Stuff.

For $20, you can enter the beard competition and show off your facial locks. You can compete in one of 12 different categories, including Natural Mustache (no styling aids), styled 'stache (styling aids allowed), goatee (must have mustache and chin hair that can't connect to side burns), partial beard (broken line from temple to temple or no mustache), business beard (full beard under two inches), whiskerina (ladies wearing any form of facial hair prosthetic), natural beard over and under 12 inches (must have unbroken line from temple to temple and no styling aids for mustache), styled beard over and under 12 inches (must have unbroken line from temple to temple with styling aids for mustache), freestyle and best in show.

All proceeds from the event go toward Bakersfield's Bikers Against Child Abuse, a local organization that creates safer environments for abused children.

Tickets are $20 to compete and $10 to spectate. It will be held at 3 p.m. on Nov. 11 at 1933.

The fundraiser features a raffle drawing, food, drinks and more.
