It's not spring yet, but the time to prepare for that season of warmer weather and blooming flowers is now.

The 32nd annual Bakersfield Home & Garden Show is coming to the Kern County Fairgrounds this Friday, Saturday and Sunday for an event jam-packed with exhibitors, speakers and more.

The show puts the clients in charge, according to its website, and offers a chance for them to meet with various businesses to compare and decide what's best for any given project around the house.

Exhibitors include businesses in areas like: air conditioning, plumbing, solar energy, contractors, builders, garden, landscaping, home decor, home exterior, remodeling, kitchen and bath, outdoor products and services, pools, barbecues, water, windows and more.

Local organizations will also be there, including the Bakersfield Art Association, Bakersfield Koi & Water Garden Society and CASA of Kern County, among others. There will also be plenty of vendors selling arts and crafts, as well as food.

Throughout the weekend there will also be speakers and special events.

Each day at a different time, chiropractic specialist Dr. Curtis W. Collins will speak on "The Miracle of Regenerative Stem Cell Therapy." See him speak at 1 p.m. on Friday or at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Dale Edwards and Lindsay Ono of the Country Garden radio show will be talking several times throughout the weekend on topics like "Growing Weed-Free Lawns," "Fixing Your Flower Power," "Growing Cactus & Succulents," "Grilling Gone Wild" and more. Their talks will happen on Friday at 3 p.m. and at noon, 1, 2 and 3 p.m on Saturday and Sunday.

BJ Leckner from Chalk Talk will speak each day at 4 p.m. on using chalk paint.

There will also be a kids workshop where younger DIY-ers can learn some new skills, and the Kern County Sheriff's Department will have a child identification program set up.

The "9/11 Never Forget" mobile exhibit, first created in 2013, will be there each day. The exhibit is a 53-foot trailer that unfolds into a 1,000-square-foot experience.
