Remember the two local authors who wrote children's books about animals that The Californian wrote about in January? Both have upcoming book signing events at Barnes & Noble this month.

Eve Henderson, author of "Missy's Pillow," is up first, with her signing event taking place this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Joining Henderson will be her canine muse, the real-life Missy, whose true story of going from street dog to beloved house pet inspired the book. In the story, Missy is taken off the streets and into a home, where she learns the rules of the house and frets over one that stumps her: the pillow rule.

Anita Ann Meyers, who wrote and illustrated "Mr. Fluff Bottom's Furrific Journey," will be at the store signing copies of her book on March 10, also from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In her story, one especially fluffy cat goes on an epic quest to find his feline family, with a little help from other animals in the neighborhood.

Barnes & Noble is located at 4001 California Ave. Call 631-2575 for more information.
