If you don't already have Halloween plans today, you're in luck because there are plenty of Halloween events going on today. 

Visit the Beale Memorial Library for its Zombies in the Dark event, where you might have to run for your life — as part of a party game. The event kicks off at 4 p.m. at the Beale, 701 Truxtun Ave.

Check out the Harvest Carnival, featuring games, a petting zoo, trunk-or-treat, bounce houses, a photo booth, a cake walk and candy. The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Christ's Church of the Valley, 13701 Stockdale Hwy.

The Fall-Le-Luiah Festival kicks off at 5:30 p.m. at Heritage Bible Church, 2323 Mt. Vernon Ave. The free event includes bounce houses, games, food and candy. Halloween costumes are encouraged.

Head to Safe Halloween from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Kern County Museum, 3801 Chester Ave. The event features costume contests, games, activities, live entertainment and food. Admission is $5 for adults and $10 for children, kids 2 and under are free.

The Laurelglen Harvest Festival features food, games, hay maze, a bounce house, cake walk and trunk-or-treating for candy. The free event is from 6 to 9 p.m. at Laurelglen Bible Church, 2801 Ashe Road.

Calvary Chapel Bakersfield, 6501 Schirra Court, is hosting a Harvest Carnival "Light the Night," which includes food, games, candy, concerts, inflatables, cake walk, chili cook-off and pumpkin carving. The free event is from 5 to 8 p.m.

You won't want to miss the Community Harvest Festival, which includes games, food, candy and live music. The free event is from 6 to 9 p.m. at Compassion Christian Center, 1030 Fourth St.

Crossover Church of Rosedale is also hosting a Harvest Festival, featuring games, candy, prizes, pony rides, hay rides, face painting, cake walk and food. Halloween costumes are encouraged but not required. The free event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. at 18210 Rosedale Hwy.

The Ridgeview Harvest Festival includes games, inflatables, food, candy and arts and crafts. The free event starts at 5:30 p.m. at Ridgeview Community Church, 8420 Stine Road.

Check out Fun Fest from 5 to 9 p.m. at Valley Bible Fellowship, 2300 E. Brundage Lane. Kids can enjoy carnival games, bounce houses and rides, pony rides, trunk or treat, a petting zoo, costume and dance contests, bingo, the “SCARE Haunted House,”  food and lots of candy. The church is also showing game six of the World Series. Admission is $10 for the first two children. Admission is $5 for every child after two.
