Move over, Cafe Rio: Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza is joining the lunch crowd at Shops at the Stockdale Centre.

Opening Thursday, the fast-casual artisanal pizza chain's second Bakersfield location will save the real celebration for Friday with a grand opening giveaway. From 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, diners will be able to come in and enjoy a free build-your-own pizza at the 200 Coffee Road location. They need only follow Blaze Pizza on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.

Featuring a 2,500-square-foot interior with seating for 56, this Blaze location is the second restaurant to open in Stockdale Centre's planned 7,000-square-foot food court, which also includes Cafe Rio, which opened its first Bakersfield restaurant there late last month, and will soon add Jersey Mike's.

This is the pizza chain's second location in Bakersfield; the other is at 3900 California Ave. A third, going up at Valley Plaza Mall where the Sears Auto Center was, is due to open in January, according to Blaze Pizza marketing representative Josh Levitt.
