Things are heating up at Valley Plaza Mall with the grand opening of Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza. In recognition of the opening, the chain will offer a free build-your-own-pizza to fans that day.

Those following the brand on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook can wait in line any time from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. to redeem the deal for the free pizza. The rest of the menu, including seasonal salads, blood-orange lemonade and a s’more pie dessert, will be available for purchase.

This Blaze location is the third in Bakersfield for the fast-casual brand. (Other locations are at 3900 California Ave. and in the Shops at the Stockdale Centre, 310 Coffee Road.)

The new store is a 2,100-square-foot open kitchen restaurant, constructed with recycled and sustainable materials, using eco-friendly packaging, and featuring energy-efficient LED lighting.

Employing 40 workers, the 3111 Ming Ave. restaurant seats 44 at the location adjacent to the mall. Another restaurant due to come to the shopping complex in coming months is Texas Roadhouse.
