When Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday, the farmers market takes a holiday. But don't fret shoppers: You can head out Friday to The Marketplace for your healthy Christmas meal needs or last-minute gifts.
Most of the usual vendors for the Haggin Oaks farmers market will be on hand Friday selling fresh produce as well as packaging gifts of local goods perfect for the stragglers on your gift list.
Baker's Outpost, a recent addition to the local dining scene run by Laura and Ian Journey, will bring the baked goods including chocolate babka, challah, rosemary polenta sourdough, cranberry orange muffins, mini panettone, chewy ginger molasses cookies and more.
Vendor Phil Beltran will bring his Brother Ray's Salsas and Seasonings including the 08'er barbecue sauce and spice rub.
Milan's Market will sling pizza along with other hot food vendors.
The Hen's Roost folks will sell the last of the Apple Core Project’s Kris Kringle blankets. For each blanket sold ($25), they donate a blanket and a meal for a local person in need. On Sunday, the volunteer group will continue the annual tradition of handing out blankets, warm clothing, toiletries and meals for those in need at Central Park.
The market will run from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at 8800 Ming Ave.
