Denny's calls itself America's Diner but thanks to a remodel, one local restaurant in the chain is now more like Bakersfield's Diner. Of course, we can share it with anyone who visits.

The restaurant at 8011 E. Brundage Lane will reopen Friday following a renovation as part of the chain's "Heritage" re-branding.

The remodel includes not only a new color palate, hardwood floor tiles and updated booths and tables, but also an exclusive Bakersfield mural with key local landmarks.

To sweeten the celebration, the restaurant will offer several diner classics at a reduced price from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday. Get the original grand slam for $2.99, the classic burger and fries for $4.99 and the bourbon chicken skillet for $6.99.

Diners can also get a free month of coffee when they purchase a limited-edition Denny's coffee mug. More prizes will also be available at the reopening.

“Being able to celebrate the reopening of our completely remodeled restaurant is exciting for our team at Denny’s, and we look forward to sharing that excitement with the residents and visitors of Bakersfield,” said franchisee Shashi Kamboj in a news release. “For years we have welcomed guests into our booths, and we are overjoyed to thank and invite the community back into our diner with this grand celebration.”
