As executive editor, Mike Jenner is responsible for newsgathering and editing operations of The Californian. Jenner joined the newspaper as managing editor in 1993.
For four years before that, Jenner was an independent newspaper consultant, specializing in issues of design, content and newsroom management.
Before launching his consulting practice, Jenner was managing editor of the Hartford (Conn.) Courant for 2 1/2 years, and assistant managing editor there for two years before that. He also worked in a variety of editing positions at The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Columbia (Mo.) Daily Tribune and the Coffeyville (Kan.) Journal.
He worked as a reporter and photographer at the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American and several other community newspapers before that.
