Davin McHenry is the web editor at The Californian. He reached his lofty position in July 2005 after singlehandedly besting more than two dozen warriors in hand-to-hand combat.

McHenry’s job is to make sure readers of Bakersfield.com are getting their local news fast, often and with ridiculously high quality. It is also his personal goal to turn Bakersfield.com into the center of all things Bakersfield.

McHenry joined the dark side (became an editor) in 2003 when he took a job as an assistant city editor. At first, our hero was placed in charge of shepherding local news for weekend papers. Then he switched over and performed the same duties for the weekday papers. When he was bad, they made him do both.

McHenry first came to Bakersfield in 2000 as a reporter. Before coming to Bakersfield, McHenry worked as a reporter in Hanford and Goleta (Extra credit points for anyone who knows where Goleta is.)
