Police to hold DUI checkpoint Saturday

On Saturday, the Bakersfield Police Department will conduct a DUI/Driver's License checkpoint at an undisclosed location in the city of Bakersfield.

The checkpoint is an effort to reduce the number of people injured or killed each year in DUI-related collisions. A major component of this enforcement is to increase awareness of the dangers of impaired driving and to encourage sober designated drivers.

The public is asked to help keep roadways safe by calling 911 if they see a suspected impaired driver.
