Police searching for two suspects in September attempted murder and kidnapping

The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating two suspects wanted in connection with a Sept. 8 kidnapping and attempted murder, a BPD news release said Friday.

Felony warrants have been issued for the arrests of 34-year-old Felix Robert Martin and 25-year-old Julio Cesar Ramirez, the release said.

The men are suspected of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, torture, false imprisonment and conspiracy, the release said.

Four suspects have already been arrested in connection with the incident, which took place between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sept. 8, according to the release.

A victim was lured into an apartment in the 200 block of Truxtun Avenue, allegedly by a woman with whom he had a prior relationship, the release said.

He was then allegedly held against his will and assaulted by five additional suspects, who threatened to kill him, the release said.

The woman eventually allowed the victim to leave after the five suspects left the apartment, the release said.

The victim then sought treatment at a local hospital and contacted police, according to the release.

Anyone with information about the incident or Martin and Ramirez is urged to call BPD at 327-7111.
