At 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, members of the California Multi-jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop on a 2001 PT Cruiser.
The driver, Chris Gutierrez, 46, was driving on a suspended license and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Officers arrested Gutierrez and searched him, his vehicle and residence.
More than 32 grams of methamphetamine and evidence of drug sales.
During the investigation, officers contacted a second person who was trying to buy drugs from Gutierrez. Demetrius Branson, 38, negotiated with an undercover officer for meth.
Branson initially provided a false name to the officers. When correctly identified, Branson was determined to a parolee in violation of his terms and conditions.
Gutierrez was booked on suspicion of possession of meth for sales, transportation of meth, being under the influence of a controlled substance and for the outstanding warrant.
Branson was booked on suspicion of providing false identification to law enforcement, trying to possess meth and a parole hold.
