Bakersfield ... the taco restaurant?

You've heard of the Bakersfield Sound and "Bakersfield" the TV series. But what about Bakersfield the restaurant?

Indeed, a taco grill named Bakersfield will be opening in faraway Cincinnati, Ohio, this fall, according to a recent report on Cincinnati.com.

The business owners, Joe and John Lanni, were inspired by the Bakersfield Sound, a raw form of country music made famous by stars like Buck Owens and Merle Haggard.

"It had a rebel outlaw feel to it," Joe Lanni told Cincinnati.com's Developing Now blog. "We'll have a cool modern space with that same feel."

Bakersfield the restaurant will serve "tacos, burritos and other Mexican-inspired street food." The Lannis have some success in the food business, having created the Currito burrito chain of restaurants, so whose to say they can't give Bakersfield another taste of the national spotlight?
