Make sure your B.com account moves to our new system

You may or may not have seen that we're preparing to make some changes to our online registration system -- the one used to comment on these blogs and news articles.

All users who have logged in during the past six months will be transfered, provided their online profile is complete.

If your profile is not complete, you received an email from me last week letting you know that you are missing some information required for our new system. If you received an email and you'd like to have your account transferred to our new system, please log in ASAP and update your information (instructions below).

Many of you may have received an email from me because you have an email address registered to more than one user name. You will need to choose which user name you want moved to our new system. I've heard back from several of you, and I still have a few of those emails to send out today.

If you do not follow the instructions in the email, your account will not be transferred and you will later need to establish a new account to comment on news articles and access other features on Bakersfield.com.

To update your information:

• Log in to http://people.bakersfield.com/home

• In the lower right, click on 'Edit,' and drag down to 'More' (This should take you to http://people.bakersfield.com/home/EditSettings)

• Update your information and click 'Save'

The following fields are required:

• E-mail

• Username

• First and last name

• Gender

• Date of birth

• Address

• City

• State

• ZIP code
