Are we getting these restaurants?

Q: My friends and I keep seeing commercials for the restaurants Golden Corral and Cici's Pizza, yet there are none in Bakersfield. Are there any plans for either of those two restaurants to come to Bakersfield anytime soon?

A: Thanks for helping us break a little news. In fact, Golden Corral is trying to purchase property on Ming Avenue (the company didn't get more specific than that) to open a restaurant in Bakersfield, said Lamar Bell, senior vice president -- financing. Golden Corral says on its website its "endless buffet features an abundant variety of delicious familiar favorites and continuous new menu offerings for breakfast, lunch and dinner."
We didn't hear back from Cici's Pizza Friday but will keep you all posted.
