Q: Football season is finally here! But what is with our local Fox channel? Have you ever tried to watch an HD broadcast game on a big screen HDTV on Channel 58? It's like mush! Are they ever going to update their service to HD?

A: You're in luck -- or at least soon will be.
By the end of the month, KBFX plans to have its new transmitter up to provide HD content over the airwaves for anyone with a digital television, said Teresa Burgess, vice president and general manager for KBFX and KBAK. All Fox network programming available in high definition will be broadcast in the full resolution, she said.
The HD offerings will be available on channel 58.1. People may need to scan it into their televisions, Burgess said.
If you're a digital customer of Brighthouse or AT&T, you're already getting HD content on KBFX, Burgess said, since those companies receive the HD feed directly from the control room at KBFX. What's new applies to those viewing KBFX over-the-air with digital televisions via its transmitter.
