Some residents driven from their homes by the Erskine Fire near Lake Isabella could be allowed back into their homes as early as noon on Sunday.

Kern County Fire Chief Brian Marshall made the announcement during a community meeting Saturday evening.

Residents have been evacuated from their homes since Thursday and staying at Red Cross shelters in Kernville and Wofford Heights.
