Think you love the fair? Sue Campbell has us all beaten, as she shares in her memory from the Kern County Fair:

It was 1966. My friends and I were always excited when it was time for the fair. Growing up in Wasco, there wasn't a lot for teenagers to do, so we were really looking forward to the fair. Problem was, we had no money!

So we got together and made a plan. We all got odd jobs doing whatever we could to earn a little cash. Babysitting, washing cars, yard work, running errands, we did it all!

Then we pooled our earnings, filled the car with gas and off we went! Paid admission, rode all the rides, played games, ate everything!

It was the best night ever! We had a blast! Working together with friends for the time of our lives! It was great!

That's my favorite memory of the Kern County Fair 1966!
