Nadine Elsibai and Paul Skoczylas
Nadine Elsibai, daughter of Nabil and Theresa Elsibai of Bakersfield, California, was married June 20, 2009 to Paul Skoczylas, son of Paul Skoczylas Sr. of Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Paula Barnes, of Jacksonville, Florida.
Rev. Stephen Field, S.J. of Georgetown University performed the 7 p.m. ceremony at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Gregory Ossi of Washington D.C., a cousin of the groom, served as best man, and Elizabeth Hill of Washington D.C., a friend of the bride, was the Maid of Honor. A garden dinner and reception followed at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens. The couple honeymooned in the Greek islands.
The bride is a reporter for Bloomberg News, and is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, where she received a bachelor of arts in English.
The groom works for the United Nations, and is a graduate of Georgetown University, where he received a bachelor of arts in Philosophy and masters in International Peace and Security Studies.
The couple met in Washington D.C. and now reside in Rome, Italy.
