Jessica Chvala and Darren Kanda
It is a blessing that James and Nancy Chvala of Bakersfield announce the June 5, 2009, marriage of their daughter, Jessica Ellen, to the son of Michael and Diane Kanda of Bellingham WA, Darren George.
With Father Miguel Flores officiating at St. Joseph Church in Bakersfield, the young couple was joined in marriage before God, family and friends who traveled near and far to witness the blissful event. The wedding party of seven couples was dressed in shades of brown and beige earth colors with a small hint of Jessica’s favorite color green. The best man was the groom’s brother Sean and the maid of honor was the bride’s sister Joslyn. The large family wedding couldn’t have been so successful without the help of many; Tia Sambo Gonzales, the hall decorator; cousin Cami Ramos, the beautician; Grandma MaryEllen the florist.
In attendance were Jessica’s grandmothers Maryellen Valladares, Barbara Chvala and Darren’s grandmother Harriet Hillier. Also in attendance were the couples Godparents Patsy and Henry Romero and Vicky and Kirk Erickson. Following the ceremony the guests enjoyed dinner and dancing at the fireman’s hall.
After a honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico the couple resides in Nipomo, CA. Darren works as am instrument technician for Conoco Phillips in Santa Maria, CA. Jessica is employed as an x-ray/medical assistant at the San Luis Family Industrial Medical Center in San Luis, CA.
On the west coast is where the newlyweds have purchased their home and decided to have family guests forever. We wish you many enjoyable days in your new life together.
