With joy, Steven and Patricia Loyd of Bakersfield, California announce the marriage of their daughter, Kelly Rene Loyd, to Aaron Francis Pieczonka, the son of George Pieczonka and the late Ann Pieczonka of San Rafael, California.
Aaron’s father married Kelly and Aaron on Saturday, October 10th, 2009, at the Swdenborgian Church in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. The church was glowing from the warmth of the huge fireplace and over sixty candles as the attendants, the siblings of the bride and groom, their spouses, took their places inside the National Historic Landmark. Beckett Corridan, the ring bearer and Kelly’s two year-old nephew, preceded the bride and was followed by Addison Geist the flower girl, Aaron’s three year old niece. Close family and friends watched as Kelly’s mother and father escorted her down the aisle of the hundred year-old church.
Kelly and Aaron highlighted the importance of friends and family throughout their intimate ceremony. Kelly’s good friend Cheryl Gates, a member of the Orange County Symphony, organized and played in the string quartet. Kelly wore her mother’s gown from 1970 adorned with 18,000 pearls lovingly sewn on by family members prior to her mother and father’s wedding. The ring bearer pillow was from Kelly’s grandparents wedding in 1945, and the flower girl basket was wrapped in Eleanor Loyd’s bridal lace. Patricia Loyd and Ann Hansen, Aaron’s cousin, introduced the couple and lit a unity candle symbolizing the joining of two lives and families. And the final reading to the couple was “the Six Rules of Marriage” written by Aaron’s mother Ann. Following the wedding friends and family were invited to celebrate at another National Historic Landmark, The cliff House. Guests enjoyed cocktails on the terrace overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and moved inside the Terrace Room for dinner and dancing. On Sunday, Aaron’s family friends, The Clarks hosted a Bon Voyage Brunch in the Larkspur prior to the couple leaving for a two-week honeymoon in Greece. After the honeymoon Kelly & Aaron returned to their Bay Area home in San Rafael.
