MONROVIA, Calif. (AP) — A reputed gang member suspected of fatally shooting one man and wounding two others at a California bar has turned himself in to police and authorities said his brother and their parents also face charges in the case.

Michael Lowe was fatally shot Dec. 2 in the Los Angeles suburb of Monrovia as a verbal confrontation between members of two rival gangs escalated into a fight. The 43-year-old Lowe was an innocent bystander, not a gang member, investigators said.

Detectives identified Jeremiah LaCroix — known by the moniker "Ciego" — as the suspected shooter and issued a warrant for his arrest. On Sunday LaCroix walked into a jail and surrendered to deputies, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's officials, who say the 31-year-old could face murder and other charges.

It wasn't known Wednesday if he has an attorney.

LaCroix is suspected of shooting into a crowd after he and his older brother, 34-year-old William LaCroix Jr., argued with other patrons at Gem City Grill.

Sheriff's Sgt. Richard Biddle told City News Service it was "happenstance" that members of two rival gangs wound up in the same location.

In addition to Lowe, two gang members were struck by gunfire and survived.

William LaCroix was arrested along with Erika Torres, 33, as they fled the bar. They have pleaded not guilty to one count each of murder with gang allegations, prosecutors said.

The LaCroix brothers' parents are accused of helping their younger son avoid arrest after the shooting, according to City News Service. William LaCroix Sr., 57, and Ana Guerrero, 53, pleaded not guilty to being accessories after the fact.
