LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Southern California man has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting seven women while posing as a ride-hailing driver.

Nicolas Morales of Santa Clarita entered the plea Thursday to 27 felony counts including rape, forced sodomy, forced oral copulation, kidnapping and assault.

Prosecutors say that Morales would drive up to women who appeared to be drunk and ask if they'd called for a ride. When they got in his car, Morales allegedly would drive them to a location and assault them.

Prosecutors say that a gun and a knife were used in some attacks.

The assaults took place between fall of 2016 and this January in Los Angeles, Alhambra, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

If convicted, Morales could face up to life in prison.
