MIDLAND, Texas (AP) -- J.P. Sportman hit a walk-off solo homer with two outs in the ninth inning, as the Midland RockHounds beat the Corpus Christi Hooks 6-5 on Thursday.

Earlier in the inning, Eli White homered, scoring Jonah Heim and Edwin Diaz to tie the game 5-5.

The RockHounds scored one run in the seventh before Corpus Christi took a 5-2 lead in the ninth when Ryne Birk scored on a wild pitch.

Nolan Blackwood (3-2) got the win in relief while Erasmo Pinales (1-3) took the loss in the Texas League game.
