Stockton scored the tie-breaking run in the top of the ninth inning Wednesday and beat the Bakersfield Blaze 5-4 at Sam Lynn Ballpark.
Chad Pinder led off the Ports' ninth with a single.
Centennial High grad Dusty Robinson singled Pinder to second and Daniel Robertson had an RBI single to right to break a 4-4 tie.
Ryan Wright hit a two-run homer for the Blaze in the seventh and Bakersfield tied it in the eighth when Juan Perez singled, took second on a ground ball and Jon Matthews hit an RBI single.
Robinson went 1-for-4 for Stockton. Kyle Waldrop had two doubles and a single and Matthews had three singles for the Blaze.
Junior Matthew Turkington and senior Justus Mora of the Cal State Bakersfield track team have been inducted into the Alpha Chi Honor Society.
Alpha Chi is an honor society for juniors, seniors and graduate students that is not exclusive to student athletes.
Turkington and Mora were selected by recommendations of their respective department chairs and only qualified by being in the top 5 percent of the students in their fields.
Mora, who was one of 17 CSUB students to receive the Academic Medal for Success, will graduate in June with a degree in psychology and plans to attend graduate school. Turkington will return next year as a fifth-year senior and is a petroleum engineering major.

Cal State Bakersfield junior Janelle Shelby was named as an honorable mention pick on the all-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation team. She led CSUB with 55 goals and is No. 7 on CSUB's all-time list with 152 career goals.
