SAN JOSE -- The Bakersfield Blaze's Marquez Smith had a big game, batting in three runs, scoring three times on three hits -- including a triple -- in Sunday's 10-4 win over the San Jose Giants.

Juan Silva also drove in two runs on three hits.

The Blaze jumped on the Giants pitching early, knocking in four runs in the first four innings and chasing San Jose starter Joe Biagini early.

Blaze starter James Allen settled down after allowing three runs early to go six innings.

Jesse Winker, Seth Mejias-Brean and Kyle Waldrop each had two hits for Bakersfield, which stays hot by moving its record to 9-2 this season. They are at Stockton today.
