Stockdale senior Blake Haney has mere months left in his illustrious high school career, and it appears he's going to make the most of them.
Haney, running in his first statewide meet of the season, won the 800 meters in a personal-record 1:53.78 and the 3,200 meters in 9:03.60 at the Azusa Meet of Champions on Saturday night.
Haney, a state champion in the 1,600 and 3,200 a year ago, was still recovering from an illness, Stockdale coach Dave Lonsinger said. Still, the 800 time leads the state this young season, and the 3,200 time is second in California.

Garcia collected 10 goals and 21 assists in three years as a starter, and he served as captain this year for the Vikings, who went 15-4-3 and reached the Central Section quarterfinals in the only team sport in which they compete in Division I.
