ANCHORAGE -- The Anchorage Aces scored two power plays goals and a short-handed goal en route to a 3-0 win Friday over the Condors.
Brad Richards put the Aces up 1-0 eight minutes into the first period on a power play; Nick Mazzolini added a power-play goal six minutes into the second and Peter Sivak scored a short-hander with 26 seconds left in the second.
The Condors, down 1-0, had a golden opportunity to tie the game early in the second period but came up empty on a two-man power-play advantage that lasted nearly two minutes.
Bakersfield was playing with nine forwards, instead of 10, as Jordan Knackstedt was loaned to Abbotsford, B.C. Abbotsford is the American Hockey League affiliate of Alaska. Knackstedt is third in scoring for the Condors (36 points) and was the only Condor to have played every game this season.
