Stockdale's first-round football playoff game against Clovis West has been moved to 7 p.m. Thursday, Mustangs coach Mike Snow said Sunday.
All of the other playoff games are scheduled for Friday, but Clovis West, Clovis and Clovis North all have home games, and the Clovis Unified School District only has two football stadiums.
The Mustangs (5-5) are the No. 9 seed and Clovis West (4-6) is No. 8. The game will be played at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Buchanan High's campus in Clovis, and the winner will travel to No. 1 Bakersfield in the quarterfinals Nov. 22.
The Golden Eagles' game was presumably moved because they are a lower seed than either No. 6 Clovis North or No. 7 Clovis. Snow wasn't happy about the switch.
"Nothing surprises me anymore," Snow said in a text message. "I think it's wrong. Just like a 5-5 team traveling to a 4-6 team. The top 2 seeds are from our league but somehow their 3-2 record is stronger than ours. Go figure."
