SAN FRANCISCO --Two Cal State Bakersfield wrestlers won titles to highlight the San Francisco State U21 Open on Sunday.

Spencer Hill defeated teammate Hunter Hodges 16-5 in the finals of the 157-pound class. Hill won four matches matches by a score of 36-15 and had one pin.

Adam Fierro, who is redshirting this season, won the 165-pound title. Fierro won three matches, two by technical fall. He defeated Justin Lozano in the finals 5-2.

Matt Correa placed third at 125 pounds. Correa lost his first match before winning the next three on the docket including a 11-2 decision over Clakamas CC's Josh Johnson in the third place match.

Sean Pollock went 2-2 to finish fourth at 184 pounds. Reuben Franklin was 2-2 at 197 pounds to earn a fourth place showing.

Men's soccer

AFA, Colo. -- Cal State Bakersfield fell behind early and lost to Air Force, 2-1 in Western Athletic Conference play.

The Falcons (2-9-5, 2-1-5) got on the board first when Connor Dunbaker scored in the 23rd minute. Gus Jensen's 25-yarder in the 68th minute proved to be the winning goal for Air Force.

Joe Masumiya connected on a penalty kick in the 71st minute for the lone Roadrunner goal.

CSUB (7-8-2, 5-3-1) had a chance to tie with 23 seconds to go, but David Velasquez's shot was blocked.

The Falcons outshot the 'Runners 18-12 as CSUB goalie Anthony Perez made a season high 10 saves.

"We didn't match the intensity of Air Force until the second half," said CSUB coach Simon Tobin in a news release. "We ended up chasing a game becuase of a tepid first-half performance. Air Force always plays inspired on their home field and our ball quality need to be complemented with a greater will to defend."

The Roadrunners conclude their regular season Saturday night when they hosts UNLV at 7 p.m.

Women's soccer

LAS CRUCES, N.M. --New Mexico State's Devin Hart scored in the 105th minute to give the Aggies a 2-1 victory over CSUB in Western Athletic Conference play.

The Aggies' ended the Roadrunners' season as the win secured the fourth and final WAC Tournament slot for Idaho, who end the regular season two points ahead of CSUB in the league standings.

The 'Runners took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute when Hedda Regefalk scored off an Erica Shelton pass.

New Mexico State tied the score in the 67th minute when Mary Kate Koziol scored. Hart got the winning goal when she took Santa Lucero's cross and scored from the center of the goalkeeper's box.

"It was a disappointing loss to end a season, especially when we had so much on the line," said CSUB coach Melissa Phillips in a news release. "We put numbers forward at the ending going for the win and their goals was a result of that. If we would have played as well as we did in the first half for the entirety of the game then we would have gotten the result. We have to be a model of consistency as a team to get results."

JC women's golf

SOLVANG -- Kendall Huser is in fourth place for Bakersfield College after shooting an 8-over 80 in the opening round of the Western State Conference tournament at the River Course at Alisal Ranch.

The Renegades are fourth in a five team field for the two-day event.

The winners at the tournament advance to Southern California regional tournament, which is on the same course on Nov. 10-11.
